Increase in the QST Rate


As of January 1, 2011, the rate of the Québec sales tax (QST) rose from 7.5% to 8.5%. As a result, the combined general services tax (GST) and QST rate is of 13.925% starting January 1, 2011.

Enterprises, professionals and self-employed persons and will have to adjust their accounting systems to comply with the new QST rate.
